Continue To Show & Give Gratitude For ALL Blessings, Old & New
I was reminded that when God gives you a blessing, remember it as a blessing. It’s easy to complain and go defensive when it gets hard, but blessings are not just meant for you entirely. It’s not meant to be completely easy. It is not meant for you to complain about and handle it lightly when entrusted to you. A blessing is a gift! A gift that transforms you and builds character.
God blesses you with land, then you must put in the Work to upkeep it.
God blesses you with a home; then you must clean it and make it a home without complaining about everything required to take care of it.
God blesses you with groceries. I know you are too tired to cook but take a moment to praise God that He provided the funds for a meal.
God blesses you with a family; take care of that family the way he takes care of you.
What God gives still requires work to maintain. Don’t look down on a blessing that brought nothing but joy to you in the beginning because it is not currently serving your wants or fulfilling your “needs”. Still praise God and persevere through what is given to you,
and PRAISE God through every trial and season you go through in between.
Because you are a blessing to me, babe, I typed this for you…
This is NOT a Father’s Day card!!!
I repeat, NOT a Father’s Day card!
This is a thank-you letter for someone who has long deserved it. I am usually not the one to share something close to my heart, but this person should read what I have to say.
To my husband,
Thank you! Thank you is so far fetched from what I want to say right now, and does not come close to how I feel, but please receive this with my whole heart intentions attached to it. Part of me wants to keep this personal because now I’m revealing to the world what prize I’ve been blessed with, but babe… You are just so breathtaking. You manage to surprise me daily with your character. I know that God made you for me because I have never grown up with such maturity in Spirit with you by my side, yet I have never seen things through such a lens as yours. You challenged me daily with random tests that I used to find annoying, yet I found beneficial when I started to examine my thoughts and ways of life.
One of the best gifts outside of our children was not only the two birthday cakes you got me, but also the fact that I could eat them for a week straight without a word. BUT the thoughtfulness of your Mother’s Day card to me. You manage to show appreciation throughout the year for being a mother to our cubs, but this card hit me differently. In this Mother’s Day card, you managed to brush over the main part of Mother’s Day and came straight to me. ME! You saw me past a mother and spoke to my heart and who I am outside of that. You reminded me of who I am as a daughter to someone else. A daughter brought here with a mission that Daddy (Abba) has placed in my heart, and over us together!
Babe, thank you for seeing me as more than just one person. For more than just a mother and a wife, but a person before everything else. Thank you for always remaining in character despite the world around you. Thank you for choosing me back and being a good steward of what Daddy has given us. Thank you for being a good daddy yourself. You honestly make me emotional by missing my own, with just your greatness reminding me of what I once had. Let me tell you, your boys will cherish you more than you could ever imagine. They will love you and will hold you highly in their heart because I had that feeling too and can see it in their eyes the way they look at you and their expression when they see you walk into a room.
IF I could give you anything more, I would, but I know to you it would not be weighed in the same sight as our Father and that you feel like you have everything already. So, I can only say Thank you, babe.
Just thank you. Thank you for your past. Thank you for overcoming and persevering. Thank you for the choices you made that brought you here. Thank you for choosing God over everyone and everything, including me. Thank you for speaking life and your delivery when doing so. THANK YOU for assisting me in everything. Thank you, babe, for being everything that God has enabled you to be to me and our cubs.
Babe, thank you.
I love you so dearly.
And to say this still does not measure how I feel and the thankfulness I have in my heart towards you.
THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU!!!
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
