Aspiring Words to the ‘Fatherless’ Child -

I have a confession to make. I have always been a fan of Celine Dion since I was a child, and was convinced that she was a Christian singer. Who could blame me, though? I mean, have you heard her angelic voice that sang songs that were, for the most part, positive and with lyrics that included angels, Heaven, and God? Again, I was a kid hearing what I heard in the most positive light because it’s Celine Dion!

If I am not the only one who thought that, thank you for making me feel like I am not alone. However, there is a song that she wrote, which I wanted to share with you. It’s a love song that I sing to God, as the lyrics perfectly describe His perfect character as a good Father. One of her most famous songs,

These lyrics are so moving and touching, and I know now as an adult that Celine Dion is not a Christian singer, but if this lady is or was saved by God, and wrote these lyrics, I believe that these lyrics could have been used to worship God to a believer who is in love with her Father. I share this song with you because I have come across many troubled souls whose earthly fathers have abandoned them, and it has been revealed to me through their actions and words that their relationship with God had become staggered because they never experienced that kind of love here on earth from their father. It is truly sad, but what I want them and you, who may have had your dad here on earth, is to know that either one, not one person, can compare nor take the place of your one and only Heavenly Father, who has created you in a secret place, and has never left you.

Please let me admit something for a second. When I would sing this song as a child, I would grieve thinking about my daddy ever leaving me because he was a sick patient for many years, but after his passing in my college years, a song that I once sang with him in my mind turned to a song sung to my Father, who never left me.

I pray that, despite your current circumstances, you will never forget that your Heavenly Father, who has and is the air in your lungs and the living God who has never left but has guided you to live a blessed and protected life. He is the Father of Truth and the Father of Strength. He is your light in the darkness. He is your voice and eyes when you could not see because you were blinded by sin in this world, or even spiritually asleep. He is the Father who, without you, looks like a little girl, but with Him, you stand tall in confidence in faith that He has restored in you. With His love, you have it all. Only your Heavenly Father is the Father who can be these lyrics and more in your life. That you must believe, and I pray that you get the chance to have such a relationship with Him that you, too, can sing this song to Him to the fullness and depth of the words expressed from your heart to the Kingdom’s throne.
